|
|
Hi,
As you can see my GO510 is dead. It was working perfectly yesterday but today refuses to turn on. It's fully charged and has only needed resetting once or twice in the time I've had it.
I've tried the pin trick for 30 seconds and still no joy. I can't take it apart because I don't own the correct shape screwdriver for the special stupid screws.
Is there anything else I can try?
Many thanks |

UPDATE
I've tried all sorts of pins and paperclips but cannot feel a resistance. Am I supposted to feel something being pressed down?
My worry now is that when I press the on switch the green power light comes on and it's not attached to the mains!!
Me thinks I've pressed too hard and bu@@ered it up completely. |

You are pressing HERE, aren't you?
There's a lot of people who've poked their pin into the microphone on the front...
You SHOULD feel a small but definite click. Is your poker thin enough. Ordinary paperclips that work on the x00 series Go's are often too thick for the x10's |

I can't find the reference that goes into more detail, but as it has a 2 year guarantee I would have a word with TT. _________________ Richard

There have been at least a couple of reports where people have said the reset switch has died, this only indication being that you cannot feel it click when pressed. Darren suffered one such failure last year as did I think Jean) send it back for repair - Mike |

Many thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated.
Yes I've reset it in the right place but cannot detect a 'switch' effect. I've used a thin sewing needle but now get the grenn power light on when I press the on/off button.
I needd to find my paperwork but I'm sure it's gotta be 2 or 3 years old. |

You are perfectly correct Richard.
I've used satnav for several years and was trying to remember certain holidays when I'd used it. What I'd forgotten was that I was using a PDA version in those days.
I've checked my paperwork and discovered it was bought last September so is still under warrenty.
I'll be contacting TomTom later and hope to get it repaired before the warrenty runs out in September
Many thanks for the feedback. |
