Are you saying you are trying to use a map from one TomTom, in another TomTom? If so, you can't, the maps are locked to the original TomTom. You will have to contact TomTom, and explain what you want to do, and see if they will give you a new activation code. This is to stop people buying a new map, copying it, and selling them on Ebay or whatever. The activation code is a combination of the map product code and the device code, so TomTom will want to know your new device code, and your old map product code. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

You say that "nothing seems to happen". Have you used 'Switch Maps' to call up the Florida map? It should then ask you to activate it, getting the code from ttcode.com
In principal, you can activate the map again after 6 months, so I think it should work for you. |

thanks 46jimbo
have sent email to tom tom I still have the emails from them for the downloaded florida map from last September with numbers/codes? etc, just got to wait for their reply.
what I should have said (re-nothing seems to happen) is that the florida map is on another card and when I try it I just get a screen showing the card coming out and a red cross drawn across the card, cannot progress any further than that. |

Sounds like the Florida card doesn't have the operating software on it.
Either copy the map folder from that card onto your "main" card (if it has enough room), or re-install the software onto the Florida card.
Option 1 is best done using Windows Explorer, option 2 will need TomTom Home if you want to download a new copy of the software, but can also be done with Explorer if you know what files to copy across from your "main" card, or don't mind a slightly older version from HERE |

thanks for the info, have tried the map in my old TT1 which I have got going but it will not charge up (car or home) its now almost dead, the florida map works fine in that device so it seems its just locked? into the original tt1, have been saying that the new one is version 2? its the slimmer model tt1, noticed on the box that it is "new edtion" if that makes any difference, thanks l |
