Duplicate European Map Names

A few months ago, I read on this forum about the frustrations of installing the European maps. It appears that if you install "part" of a country then it is given a map name that overlaps with parts of other countries. For example, if you decide to install just northern Germany and northern UK, the map name is called North for each of them. You can't keep them in the same map directory on the memory card and you have to keep renaming or copying files around to resolve the issue.

If anyone has this same frustration, then you may be interested to hear that I have extracted the .INI files from each of the 8 CDs and edited them to give unique names to all subsets of the full set of maps. If there is sufficient interest, I could ZIP up the amended files and make them available. You just need to merge the original 8 CDs into a single composite directory and layer the changed INI files over the top to correct the difficulties.

If you are interested, post a reply to this thread and I'll see what I can do to make the INI files available for download.

Certainly interested - we used it in Europe last year - and will again this year on another 10 day driving holiday - Tim - one of the guys who was with us noted the problem and I think it was his post you may be referring to - can you email it to me (and I'll pass a copy onto Tim) - davidDOTmilesATz3roadsterDOTnet (do the obvious with the capitals)
