Welcome to the forum.
Is this a new icn610?, if so have you charged it properley?, if you have then send it back.
If this is a fault that has occured after working fine for a while, then yes there is a problem. The batteries are internal and cannot be easily replaced.

None of the iCN6xx series has an internal battery.

I also read the icn620 manual and didn't see any battery detail. Are you sure this is the same for the 610?

I can confirm that the iCN 610 only works from mains power.
Just gone from an iCN 610 to a Navman F20,
One of the reasons for upgrading was because the 610 had no battery backup.
