In the absence of a section for the Navman F20 , I have posted this question here ( If the mods. want to move it somewhere more appropriate then go for it )
Does anyone know if it is possible to change the standard speed camera warning beep to another noise / word of your choosing ? _________________ Keith

It's not officially supported but you could try -- some models allow it, some don't (not sure about F20, I think that 530 did but not 100%). If you connect to the device and check ini files in MyPOI directory, there is a "soundfile" entry in there (if it isn't then try adding it, e.g. "soundfile=default.wav"). Try replacing with different wav file -- if it still plays default sound than this option is not supported on your model. If you get just silence than option is probably supported but format needs to match exactly, ditto for distorted sound. You can get format info if you copy one of the wav files from the unit onto your Windows PC, right click on it and check Summary tab. |

Buy Connectivity kit for F Series from Navman.
If shop is out of stock try Google. |

I found the original post claiming that it is possible to assign individual sounds to POIs and gives some details on correct format. It is quite old.
If you decide to give it a try do check the file format first as described since it could have changed. I did hear that later this individual sound functionality was disabled on some devices but not sure which ones -- could very well be that F20 was affected. However, even if is disabled on F20 it should still be possible to change that one sound to something else. |

Here's some advice for 530 and 520 as well.
Looks the same -- the only difference is that 520 has CHK files while 530 doesn't (just like F20), but you should only be modifying WAV and INI files anyway (and you can skip INI files if you don't care about having different sounds for different POIs). |

As the F20/ F30 only connect to the PC via the Navman connectivity kit you would have to use this software to install anything to the device, you cannot use Active Sync so I am not too sure the linked methods will work - Mike |
