whats better tomtom 910 or garmin 670??????

Hi

I'm going to chop in my old PDA with Co pilot of a shiny new sat nav, I've narrow it down to either of the above because I what europe and USA maps a TMC. Any thoughts?????

I am also currently torn between these two.

Price TT - £290 vs £415 for the 670

£30 for a future TT FM transmitter mount (if needed).

Unsure as to if TT Traffic is better than the RDS traffic with the 670.

Below is spects for both but at the end of the day it will be down to persinol choice if poss go to a shop and have a play with both to see if that helps most will perfer one better than the other

I am now thinking it will be the 660 or the 910.

I can't see how FM Transmitter is worth an extra £100 as I wouldn't play MP3s on the unit and instead would want to listen to the radio and hear directions.

If the internal speaker is loud enough that will be fine.

I actually like the UI in the Nuvi, but am a little concerned over the speed of refresh on the maps that I have seen. On the positive side I like the form factor and the mount looks rock solid.

The TT has a pretty speedy refresh rate from what I can see I actually (slightly) prefer the map UI too (but not the menu UI).

How easy is it to (say) navigate to a petrol station with the 910?

One question Phil, do you use the traffic functionality on the 660?

I am working on the basis that it doesn't work.

Is there a special interface to enable you attach the sat nav to the radio aerial?

I am also looking to chose between the TomTom 910 and Garmin Nuvi 660. I have one other question on the Nuvi, doe sanyone know if the UK models with FM transmitter actually works? I phoned one of the shops on linked to this site and they stated that the FM function does not work.

Have only used the Tom Tom 910 and Garmin 276C

The TomTom hardware is not as reliable as the Garmin

Have had to reset the 910 several times and also have fried a Tom Tom charger. The screen on 910 has frozen up before.

The hands free phone on 910 is not very good!

The mike is poor quality and it tends to repeatly drop the blue tooth connection to the mobile.

Have fitted Parrot to our vehicles as hands free kit. Have never dropped connection yet.
