Database quality

I would like to us the PGPSworld database, however the last time I used it (when it was free), I remember it being quite inaccurate, it would show speed cameras where there wasn't any, and alot of the time, show them just were signs for speed cameras were.

Also I remember there were a few cameras dotted around the globe in various places. Since its become a premium services has the database quality improved or is it going to be the same?

Except to most of us, your adverse criticism is something entirely alien. 8O We think it was "improved" already and getting better all the time. Where you get the idea of "inaccurate" from I simply don't know. There are MANY occasions when the database warns you without a camera in sight - that's where there is a known location for a mobile speed camera to operate - the camera isn't there at that particular moment because it's somewhere else trying to catch me - it can't be everywhere simultaneously (although that North Wales police chief would like to do so). There are a few occasions when the database warns you of a camera which isn't there because its removal has not yet been passed through to the database. Nowadays, with updates coming out roughly fortnightly, you won't get many of those.

Thousands of paying members can't be wrong. Hunt around and see if you can find any other site, free or paid membership, which comes even within very very long distance site of this one. If you can find one, use it. You can't be too worried about cameras anyway if you haven't used a database for well over a year (of course, you may have been out of the country, I suppose).

The database is now split up into sections, so you can tell at a glance (or by a spoken warning) if you are being warned of a permanent camera position or just a possible mobile camera site.
You will find VERY few fixed cameras are missing, and its up to you how much you want to take note of the warnings for possible mobiles, or you can remove them completely if you prefer.
