Its not quite as simple as adding a voice file to the voices folder, the TTS voices are withing the Loquendo Folder, what have you done to the device in order to render it incapable of reading out out street names - selection of Change Voice then select Kate (Computer voice) should make it work assuming the files are in the correct folders - Mike |

Adjacent to any voice that offers the Text To Speech functionality are the words Female Computer or male computer in the top right corner - Mike |

Have you got a back-up of the device? - if not there is no easy way to get the voice back on the device short of contacting TomTom - Mike |

I found out the hard way that TTHOME backup stops the computer voices from working. It folds all filenames to lowercase, whereas Loquendo relies on mixedcase filenames. I have some screenshots from the TT helpdesk if you need to know exactly what the filenames should be. |

Pete, It is a hard lesson to learn that Home doesn't back-up the 910 correctly, I to fell foul of this and spent some considerable time re-naming the files to get it working (I did have a Windows Explorer back-up, but I wanted to see how long it takes doing it the "hard way").
For anyone with a 910 as an absolute minimum take a copy of the Loquendo folder to the PC using Windows Explorer" and keep it safe on DVD - just in case - Mike |

Amazing if TomTom still haven't sorted this out!
I remember this problem being mentioned months ago, and it was obvious then what Home was doing wrong.
Producing a backup is the most important thing Home should do. TT should be ashamed of themselves... |
