I have some new POIs for the US. These will be brand new categories with hundreds of locations for example Kohl's department stores. What is the best way to post them for others to use? |

Submit a POI file
Email any new POI files to POIs@pocketgpsworld.com suggesting names for the Category and Subcategory to be used. Remember that all submitted files must be free of any copyright restrictions. Text files in the following format are preferred
So this is the best way...... |

Is there a problem?
A File attached to an email is all that's needed, with a few details in the text of the email. _________________ Richard

Response for Space_Cowby,
We all respect the effort put in by the Team, but also respect should go to to the efforts put in by the people who submitt the POIs, who also spend a lot of their spare time collating and configuring the lists in a way that they can be submitted to in the easiest form to be added to the Database.
I personally spent approx 3 weeks collating a complete category of approx 207 POIs and submitted in text format, I still do not know if they were submitted correctly or is problem with them, if I knew I could rework them, I shall not know until I see them in print, consequently i will not bother submitting anymore till I know.
Respect goes both ways, as mhhaaske says: "What no posting credit...."
Ps this question was asked prevously, response nothing? |

I know exactly what you mean after submitting a POI file.
Somewhere on here there is a list of credits for POI files but i can never find it when i want it. |

IMHO...Those that take the time and effort to share POI files should at the least been given contribution credit. By doing this you will more people contribute.
If you really want to see POI contributions increase, provide free subscription to contributors after a certain number of POI submissions. |

I know those that I've done, and I'm content that others are making use of my handiwork.
I also know that most POI locations are not spot on, and that a multitude of users will submit corrections/adjustments which will make for a more accurate database.
So for each correction do I take/get less credit? It doesn't bother me, and I will still carry on helping others. It's my input into the Sat Nav community. ;) _________________ Richard

Thats my point for credits or whatever you want to call them, not reward, just satisfaction that you are in fact helping others. |
