You can't navigate across maps with Tom ttom - to get from oyur house you'll have to load one of the bigger maps which covers teh whole area betwwn your start and destination.

DinAlt's answer is correct - though this is much wished for, and I suppose it's possible a navigate across maps feature (or some way of planning routes without the limitations imposed by the current map segments) will emerge in a future version of TomTom Navigator.

Fortunately a storage card big enough to take the entire Great_Britain map isn't that expensive - around 40 pounds should get you a good brand 128MB card in either SD or CompactFlash. Personally I'd recommend 256MB.

John,

TomTom will only route when you have your start and destination in the same map file. So no loading the seperate segments on to the storage card will not work.

Having said that it should not make any difference to your core issue which is finding places. What the problem you are exoeriencing there?

If searching for places is incredibly slow, please post what Pocket PC you're using, what ROM version (if you know - if not, and it matters we'll hopefully be able to tell you how to find out) and any markings on your SD card.
