Tomtom Mapping Data/Postcodes

A couple of years ago I hired a Tomtom for a week and I was so impresses by it I bought one.

After a while I found quite a number of problems particularly where the postcode and addresses do not correlate. Here are a few examples FY2 0ST which should be 339 Warley Road, FY1 2PH for 8 Woburn Road and NG19 9BU for 25 New Mill Lane, Mansfied Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire.

I have reported these problems to both TeleAtlas and Tomtom, but the new navigation devices in the shops are still been sold containing these anomalies. What I'd like to know is, is there anyone out there selling postcode/address data which is correct and can be downloaded and used on this device? The second question is, is it possible for me to link my Tomtom and PC together and to edit the postcode/address files? If so could someone please give me details of how this can be achieved? I have noticed that there are lots of errors in the Blackpool in relation to postcodes and there are also a lot of errors where there are a lot of unnamed roads, which again I cannot imagine is correct.

As all these devices appear to be using the same data, whose responsibility is it to check that this information is correct? I have previously contacted Ordnance Survey and they say that they are holding the correct information.

Chris, the map data will evolve/ change and encompass user feedback over quite a long period of time, the answers to your previous question on this subject are still valid, see Here
In each case of your examples the actual required road is very close to the one the device chooses, in most cases you would have to be on the road you want to get to the destination the device has incorrectly selected - Mike
