|
|
Having just re-installed (again!) TomTom Nav 2.24 I now see a Navigator Today list item (itself not a problem ) but now the program stated I do not have any maps installed. This is the umpteenth time I have uninstalled then re-installed the software (2.24) but the first time this 'quirk' has shown itself. 8O
I have the entire UK map installed onto the SD card.
I have just decied to do a cold reset and start afresh (I am fed up with the iPAQ requiring two starts every time I turn it 'on' and am assuimg that a program is starting too soon) but can anyone say why this might have happened so that I can avoid having to re-install the maps as I am using a serial connection and will take ages.
thanks
(Apologies if this has already been noted but I have already searched the forums but nothing jumps out at me) |

I get this every now and then when the iPAQ doesn't 'see' the SD card.
I'm not sure how it manages to lose the card as it is never removed from it's slot. But going to File Explorer>My Device and sometimes the Storage Card is missing.
Maybe as the result of a soft reset.
If it happens again, check whether it's the iPAQ or TomTom that has lost it's way _________________ TomTom 920T |

It is definitely TomTom as both Resco and the File Explorer can see the SD card - I am 99% certain that the fault lies with either the Program 'GPS ~' or the new GPS wizard.
The GPS driver 2.07 does not have this fault. |

The problem you refer to is actually to do with the "TomTom Wizard" component - a single uninstall of "TomTom ~ GPS" is to clear problems with a Bluetooth GPS not working in other applications. Uninstalling "TomTom Wizard" should help a great deal.
The thread that explains this in detail can be found here. I recommend following the instructions I gave there not to install TomTom Wizard in the first place if you install GPS 2.09. However, the Bluetooth DLLs installed with TomTom Wizard may well be required for Bluetooth GPS use on the XDA 2 and rebadges thereof.
IMHO GPS 2.09 is a bit of a mess as it stands.
