Hi, on loading a list of ATMs as POIs onto TT6 I noticed that the list had hardly any Abbey ATMs. I have managed to obtain a list of all the Abbey ATMs which I want to convert into POI's and potential publish on PocketGPS.
There does not appear to be a tool you can use to convert postcodes to Lat/Long. The TomTom software appears to have a file within the Zip folder which I asssumes has this info.
Is there a way of opening the TomTom file to help with the coversion of is there a list/tool vailabel to covert postcodes to co-ordinate.
I dont fancy putting in 1500+ postcodes into Streetmap then copy/pasting the results into a spreadsheet.
There seemed to be a few tools/lists in the past which have been closed down. Do they still exist clandestinely on the web somewhere?

Probably the best tool is AutoRoute. It will import Postcodes and plot them on the Map, which can then be converted into a POI File.

However, Postcodes are famous for being not too accurate a lot of the time and, if you want a reasonable accurate file, a degree of tweaking is required.

You're also right that there aren't many Abbey ATMs. I didn't get that far.Smile

That sounds like a good way to do it. I have an old version of Autoroute (2001) so it has 'bounced' about 15% of the postcodes. Once I get them logged and saved, what is the best way to then convert to a OV2 file?
I have found this site and have emailed the owner for help.

Try POIConverter.

Thanks for the tips. I have exported the postcodes to an OV2 file. As before, I was only able to match 1296 of the 1516 records. However the POI converted has read in all 1516. However, I cannot see them on the TT map (I know there were a lot unmatched in N Ireland.
I did try to use your Abbey logo and I changed its file name to match the OV2 file. However, it just seems to show as a red box. Any ideas?
Although the whole lot hasnt plotted, would it be worth publishing this list?
Is it easy enough to do this?

In Autoroute2005 the unmatched Postcodes used to be lumped at Lancaster. Confused

The reason they are unmatched is because they might be newer than the List that AR has, or that they are no longer valid.

If you have an address for them, 220 of them in your example, you could use the address facility to plot the locations.
