|
|
Hi,
I recently upgraded my iPAQ 3870 from PocketPC 2002 to Windows Mobile 2003.
I have found, however, that since the upgrade that my Transplant CF GPS card doesn't seem to work. When I select COM6 in Oziexplorer or Winfast Navigator, the green light does actually blink, but no data is transmitted back to the application. Neither application show any NMEA sentences being recieved.
Is there same way that I can get the card to work, without downgrading to PocketPC 2002?
Any thoughts appreciated.
Chris. |

The only way is to get a firmware update from Transplant. |

Transplant says they will update the firmware and ship back the following day in most cases. You pay to ship there, they pay to ship back, and the update is free.
Plz let us know if the firmware update solves the problem. |

Well, I sent back the CF device to Transplant. While it was there I enquired about upgrading to a BTGPS. They were happy to do so, and at a very much reduced price!
After lots of mucking around sorting out payment, I have the new bluetooth device - and WOW, it's amazing! Soooo much more sensitive than the CF card, even when the external antenna was plugged in. I can easily get a sat lock inside my house, as well as when it is in its case, inside the glovebox of the car!
Kudos to Transplant.

The BT GPS is much better, and is to date I believe the most reliable GPS in terms of not failing. |
