That's weird.... It's showing as £6.99 now and their FAQs say
Quote: | Q. Are all of your UK deliveries really FREE?
A. YES! You do not pay any delivery charges for any items that you buy from DVD.CO.UK that are shipped to UK addresses. |
So even better value. |

Confusing site as front page offers "Pro secure" at £9.99 and further in offers "Secure" at £6.99 both postage free.
What is the difference between "Pro secure" and just "Secure"? _________________ TomTom Go 60

Thanks for posting that link. I've just ordered a 2Gb Kinston SD card from them for £9.99 including postage.

Mine turned up in good time and works well, so I'm happy. Just something worth noting: you won't get full European TomTom maps on a 2Gb SD card. According to what I had read, the full European maps take up 1Gb, but they flipping well don't!
I got all my maps onto 2Gb apart from Italy! I can't remeber the shortfall, but it was only a few Mb short of being able to fit the last map on. That is without any additional POI databases, so I would recommend a much larger card than 2Gb if you want to fit everything on!

Depends what you mean by "full European maps". The latest v6.6 Western Europe map is a 956MB download, so would fit easily onto a 2GB card.
The old set of individual maps had more countries so would be bigger. (Try "Search" for more details) |

My maps are TomTom Navigator 5. When choosing the 'Plus' option for each country's map from the installation CDs I ran out of space when I got to the final map. The total space for all the maps came to just over 2Gb.
I wonder why the latest maps are under half the size. Have they left some details out or something?

Sorry, forgot to add: My maps appear to have the same countries as the latest European maps (Western Europe and Scandinavia, excluding Poland).

You seem to have the individual country maps of Western Europe. Each map is the detail of the country. The Plus map is the country in detail with the major roads of the rest of Europe attached as one map.
If you load all the plus maps you will get to around 2GB. But you will have a lot of major road duplication on the card.
Usual advice is to load the detail of your home country and the plus map of the destination country. You use your home country for everyday use and switch to the other map for holidays etc. This will take you on the major roads from home to the destination country, whereupon the detail will improve and you can find you actual destination, which may be in a side street. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

The PLUS option maps are street level maps of that country PLUS Major Roads of Europe (MRE). Therefore if you have installed every individual country as a PLUS map you've got duplicate MRE data multiple times hence the size disparity. The idea was you would for a trip from UK to Italy for example install UK PLUS map and Italy Map. You could then navigate through Europe and switch back to detailed mapping in Italy. The PLUS map option allowed seamless navigation across a country border which individual country maps do not. If you have every country installed then you would only need one to be a PLUS map. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks S.Gould and Darren.
I discovered that last night via one of my questions in the other forum. I've taken off the Plus maps, but had to put the German and Iberia Plus maps back on otherwise I didn't get Poland, Czech Republic and Portugal.
So, with UK Plus, Germany Plus, Iberia Plus and all the rest as non-Plus maps I got them all onto my 2Gb card with 390mb space to spare.
Thanks again
