Garmin i3 - using a new SD card

Apologies in advance for complete lack of knowlwdge!

I am the proud owner of a Garmin i3 (Software version 3.20) which has a micro SD card of 256 Mb memory capacity which leads to a potentially silly question.

Can I install/Do I need to install a larger capacity card so that I can use POI databases - ie am I going to run out of memory? Plus can I back this card up onto my PC just in case. I've looked through the Forums and not found any obvious answers so very many thanks in advance.

You should always back-up newly aquired s/w supplied on removable media in any event. It allows you to get back to square one if all else fails.

Whilst you have the card out for backup (I would recommend using a separate card reader for doing large amounts of data transfer) use your PC to see what space is left. I would be suprised if you didn't have enough for the GPSWorld camera database - it's only around 340Kb
