Hi there !
I would like to know if there is still a mechanism of Map activation ?
A colleague of mine has the TOMTOM 700 with the full detailed Europe on SD, and had nothing to do for activation (This has been done by the shop because it as a "presentation" device.)
Ha also took a backup of the SD card on his PC (using HOME) - is there a way to see in those backup files if the Europe map is "activated" or linked to the device ?
So, is there still an activation process or not ?
Many thanks ! |

I don't think there is - picked up my 910, charged it, turned it on, was asked which map I wanted (EU or US) and off it went and displayed the map. |

Pre-installed maps are already activated and locked to that device. If you try copying them to a new device you will then be prompted to activate. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Cheers, going to have to take my 910 back so suspect I'll run into some issues with the voices I've got etc... |

If you have activation issues with legallly bought maps or voices...
a quick (can't believe I wrote that! ) word with customer services and proof of purchase (fax of receipt etc.) should sort it out easily. |
