Has anyone modified their X10 mount into a screw-on mount?

Just wondering whether anyone's tried modifying their 510/710/910 suction mounts so they can be screwed onto the dashboard?

If it helps anybody, I've written a bit about how I mounted mine on the dash - there should be a pic below (unless this whole internet thing's gone horribly wrong...!).

I decided to install my 710 in the car yesterday but didn't want to mount it onto the windscreen so I could make the installation a bit tidier.

It's easy enough to dismantle to mount - you have to use a watch-maker's flat blade screwdriver to pop the "cover" (the thin end - slightly lighter grey in my photos below) off the suction clamp ring-thing, and then you can get to the small bar running horizontally through the mount - that slides out through a notch in the case and the mount separates.

Mine's fitted without the suction cup, and it's simply been screwed onto the clock fascia from behind - if I need to, I can replace the suction cup.
