Has anyone managed to dismantle it yet, reason for asking is that I'd like to mount it on my existing Brodit mount.

As there are no replacements available, I'm a little reluctant to mess to much at the moment.

yes, you need a T8 Torx. Three screws.

The problem is that the holder is a metal T-piece. I can't see how you can easily affix that to a Brodit mount. You also need to be concerned about the mounting depth - vibrations will amplify because of the device weight.

Hi,

Ill let you know when a new Brodit mount will be available for the 510/710/910 series from Brodit.

As a reseller of Brodit gear I am getting quite a few requests already, and having looked into the existing mounts fitting the new *10 series, im afraid it is a totally different system, PM me if you need any more advice,

Thanks again,

Bryson

Hi,

Brodit have a x10 device they are working on, as suspected it is a totally new mounting system, and they are not 100% sure they will be able to release a new holder for th x10 series, however, we shall find out more soon, but they did say at least 4 weeks, which im sure they would not have said if they were not confident of succsefully making a new holder! Fingers crossed!

Ill keep you all posted with any more news,
Thanks all,

Bryson

Cute - this one is actually using the original mount, or at least parts of it. Pretty much the same as a disk glued to the dashboard...

It's very easy to disassemble to suction assembly - for example if you want to screw it to something else (like I've done here) - just pop a watchmaker's flat blade screwdriver into the join between the base of the suction cone (the large end) and the removable top (the narrow, slightly lighter end).

With the ring popped off, you turn the base as if you were undoing the mount from a screen and push the suction cup into the base to expose the metal retaining bar which runs across the inside of the base.

You then need to use thin pliers to pull the bar out of the hole a bit - once it's moved a small amount, you can get a lever onto the other side of the bar and push it out (carefully! As soon as the bar's out, the whole suction cup assembly falls apart).

Reassembly is a little fiddly but definitely possible.
