Have a read through THIS. I don't know if it works on the N35.
Also make sure the Memory Card is not set to Read-Only.
I don't know why the Postcode Input should be that slow. _________________ Richard

I've installed both TomTom 5 and TomTom 6 on n35s and they have just worked with nothing else needing installing. You should see the port for the built in GPS antenna (sorry I can't remember its description) when you select the GPS.

Hi thanks for the replies I will try to explain further when I open the Tom-tom program I go to show gps setting and then configure select other cable nmea gps and then I have tried all the different baud rates I then have 5 different comm. Ports
1= SC2410 USB cable
2= COM 3
3= S2410 IrDA 2410
4= S2410 uarto
5= gps on navigator
the one I think should chose is gps on navigator and I have tried all the baud rates on this then on the gps status screen in the top left hand corner it says no gps device and the yellow and blue circle in the top right hand does not turn I have also tried all the different comm. Ports all with the same outcome is it possible I need a driver or utility to get the GPS working or do you think the GPS is broken thanks again |

The settings I posted above work on my Acer N35.
When starting the GPS Unit (By flipping up the receiver at the back) does a blue light flash at top left of device?
If not then soft reset and see if the light comes on and flashes. If not I would suggest that for some reason the unit is not connecting. That would be the reason that TTN reports no GPS device.
Try a hard reset. Re-install TTN and see if that cures it. If not then I would suggest that the unit has become faulty.
There are no additional drivers required to operate the GPS unit on the Acer N35 as it is all self contained.
Hope this helps _________________ Mystery

hi update got it workng now i uninstalled it and put tomtom on a new sd card
(a standard speed sd card) everything works smoothly starts up faster and the post code input works as it should.apparently the sd card iwas using was a high speed one,now very happy.all i can think of is that the acer n35 doesnt
like high speed sd cards.
oh just one thing when i put my post code in it comes up with unamed road? |
