|
|
Just switched on my i3 to set it up to get me to an interview tomorrow. Obvously as i am indoors it can't get any saterlites, but i wanted it to a) have a look at the destination on the map and them get the i3 to simulate the beginning of the journey.
The problem is the the i3 won't draw the map (or any map) that i want to look at. When i ask it the simulate the route, the roads names changed, and initially the picture didn't. Now no picture at all. It keeps freezing up, so I have to take the batteries out to switch off
I re uploaded the latest firmware, and was trying to update speed cameras, but evertime the POI loader appeared the i3 switched off!
anyone had the same experience? I bought it in May last year. which is better to go back to carphonewarehouse where i bought it or contact garmin direct, if there is no improvement?
any ideas on fixing the problem would be great
thanks very much |

Try a reset (this will wipe your local settings and set-up), with the device switched off press and hold the two push buttons AND the scroll wheel for 3-5 seconds, when the display asks you :
"Do you really want to erase all user data?" enter Yes
Then set-up the device again from scratch - Mike |

thanks for the replies. The reset doesn't seem to have cured all the problems. Still switches off when I try and use the poi loader. Not sure about the moving maps as it's taken 20 mins to look for saterlites so far.
How do i revert it back to firmware 2.7? |

ok, worked it out, thanks, but the i3 can't/won't get a satalite lock. After an hour a half it hasn't even told me it can't find satalites. |

no, plugged into computer with usb at the moment. I am going to give it a proper test in the car shortly. It switches off when i finish entering the address, switch off gps mode, or if I try and upload POI's with the loader.
So at the moment don't know if the mapping is better, but it hadn't the brief time it didn't switch off |
