Question regarding Map upgrade

I have an ipaq 1940, which apparently isn't compatible with TTN6

I'm just wondering whether to upgrade my TTN5 maps to the latest.
I do a lot of driving through France (Roscoff to Dordogne), and have found many a quirk with my current maps (off road display,false roundabouts etc).
My question is, from what I understand, if I took advantage of the current 20% discount for the latest maps, I shouldn't download the version with free TTN6, as it just won't work with my current ipaq, So would I get the new 'benefits' of 'Max Speed' guidance and the updated route calculation with the TTN5 new version maps?
Or is this purely a TTN6 version enhancement?

Any help would be appreciated

I have recently installed the new seamless map of Western Europe to my TT5 and everything works just fine. Its great in Ireland and on the continent and I'm glad that I upgraded.

However, I haven’t noticed any enhancements (max speed guidance etc) to the actual programme so I suppose that those characteristics are part of TT6. I must admit that I don’t miss any of the features that are standard on TT6 and consider them mostly gimmicks. But that’s just a matter of choice.

I was just hoping to get the extras with them.
