Just bought a second hand tomtom go v1 and love it compared to the orrible garmin I3 i had before. The I3 abandoned me in the centre of Bristol and i never liked the thing after that.
The problem i have is that is has a start up screen (spalsh screen i think you call it) of a toyota logo. How do i change this screen please.

Connect your Tom Tom One to your PC with the USB cable
It should appear on your ‘C’ drive as another drive.
Open the folder on your Tom Tom.
About halfway down you will see a file called ‘splash.bmp’
Change this to oldsplash.bmp or something similar
If you have another ‘splash' to replace it, then drag and drop to here,
and call it splash.bmp again.
If not, then just leave it as oldsplash, then it will remain blank.
(If you want to make one yourself, it will have to be of a certain size in pixels for it to work. See elsewhere on the forum for details about this).

Follow Hemlocks advice for own creations.
To save you some legwork, the splash.bmp specs are :-

320 x 240 pixels (w x h ).
Rotate thru 90 degrees right.
so this

becomes this

Note - I've had to use jpg files as example only. You must have bitmap file called splash.bmp
