urgent help needed

please help i have just pressed the soft reset button due to ipaq 3630 hanging up but all i have on the screen now is ipaq pocket pc,no icons at all.
when i try to conect to pc it comes up not detected.
what have i done?

Have you tried removing the battery leaviung for a few seconds and reconnecting it? Also is it charged up?

got it back again but had to do hard reset.

There's really no alternative to a hard reset if a soft reset doesn't work. Some of the newer iPAQs with removable batteries can respond to five pushes of the reset button with the battery removed, then refitting the battery - I believe that can solve some Wi-Fi issues on the iPAQ 5450 and 5550.

In your case, a hard reset was the only way out. I do recommend Sprite Backup - I find it invaluable.
