GATSO:19896@40

To view on map

Lat: 322144144182985
Lon: -0.2102208137512207

When i travel Northbound on the A217 my i3 warns me of this camera. However it then continues to warn me long after i have a passed it! In fact i can get halfway down "Mad Mile" which is the section of road north of the camera, after the crossroads.

Never happens southbound!
No icon on the screen.
i3 just bongs and bongs and bongs
Displays GATSO:19896@40 at the top.

This is the ONLY camera i have ever experienced this with and it has done it ever since the cameras was there.

Anyone else seen anything similar?

I get a similar effect with one particular camera near me - continued warnings after it has been passed. All others behave as expected.

Just one of those weird bugettes - Garmin's that is, not the PGPSW database.

Glad it's not just me then.

Weird thing is that if i stop for the crossroads the warning stops, only for it then to continue as i cross and start down the next section of road. Took me ages to work out it was still the camera I'd passed....

Have you considered the camera 40-M-7858?
It is so close to the dual carriegeway [N] and your problem Gatso?
Should it be on your road or in the side road Brighton road??
Either way it would have an effect on your unit!

On garmin software neither are on the actual dual carriageway.
Perhaps GATSO:19896@40 is registered for both direction instead of one!

I had a similar problem at Port Talbort[on the M4], where in a 50mph zone, I was being warned of a 30mph camera location.
This camera location was 40feet from the M4 carriageway and not on any Garmin road!!
It was re-positioned on a Garmin [side road] by the database team and the problem was eliminated.

Mobile 7858 should be on the dual carriageway although the side road is where they sit. It would create confusion if you where in Navigation Mode because it wouldn't trigger an alert unless you went down the side road!! I've submitted the change to PGPSW.

GATSO 19896 has road marking for both directions but i have only seen it facing Northbound.

I'll be going up there later this week so I'll make some more notes. Maybe pop out this afternoon for a drive...
