I purchased the latest TTN6 for my Dell Axim X30. After getting the software loaded and duly registered, I found that I could not get any voices to work, I was very fortunate and lucky that Mike Alder was online and between us we spent most of Saturday afternoon trying to get the voices to work. I would point out that at one stage I was using a card reader to try and drag/drop and copy/paste onto the TT logo SD card. But got nowhere, as I was being told the card was read only, and yes I had move the switch on the side of the card.
After a process of elimination both Mike and myself came to the conclusion that the SD card was at fault, and after working out the work round for the problem, I got the SD card to work, with everything how it should be.
Mike thanks for your help, it was much appreciated.
So tonight, I thought I’d give TT support a call, to my disgust i was told that because I did not have a PDA listed on their wed site, no help, advice or support would be given. I tried to tell the guy on the other end of the phone that it was the SD card that was faulty not my machine, but the answer was “not interested, get the right machine and then get the support, not interested if the SD card is faulty”
If I had known this in the first place then I would not have wasted over £60 on a legit copy of TTN6. I might have well just got hold of a illegal copy of TTN6, got on with things.
Yes I’ve got everything working, but I wanted the TTN6 for the traffic updates, but now find that the support that I might need sometimes will not be there.
What a waste of money

Hardly a waste of money if you're now up and running.....and it was no fault of TT in the first place. |

Typical answer from a TomTom puppet, I think the Op has a valid point, you only have to see from others on the forum that tomtom are quite happy to keep taking everybodies money and giving no support back or taking notice of valid opinion, they should be supporting the product, thats what your paying for. |

So, if i had not been able to get up and running, and knew the TT logo SD card was at fault, whose fault would it have been then, and where could i have gone to get the require support.
I always thought that when you bought something new, it can with a warranty, looks not to be the case from TT |

Kieth, I had to ring them a couple of days ago, they managed to sort out my problem ok but you do get the fealing they don't really want to speak to you, the person I spoke to anyway.
I guess you are all sorted now so you won't need to speak to them again,

Hi Nick,
I understand what your saying, but if anything goes wrong in the future, then i can't ask the manufactures for help, even though the goods were bought from them.
Mick,
Ok no problem, you can see where i'm coming from now
Cheers

I have always found TT customer support to be excellent, but I have always called their Dutch customer services department. This number is for English speaking queries 0031 208 501004. If you call through www.1899.com it only costs 1p a minute. Far cheaper and more heplful than calling their UK 0870 number. _________________ Iphone 7 running IOS 11.1.2
