I have downloaded the Suntime application for my GO300 for automatic Daytime Nightime settings. However, download is about as far as I got. The instructions tell you to unzip the file (not a problem) then install into TomTom Home - Content then launch Home select appl and install. Well I launched TomTom Home but cannot find anything that says "content" nor can I drag the cab file or the toc file into TomTom Home. Am I missing something blindingly obvious or are the instructions poor? I did just try dragging the files straight onto the SD card but doing this did not seem to do anything when I started up TomTom so I deleted them again. Something else that I have noticed as well - if I select "Night Colours" on the TomTom the screen goes darker but only momentarily and then the map returns to normal and everything appears to look just like it does normally. What's supposed to happen when you select night colours. By the way I am using the latest software 6.25.0 or something like that.

Hmm! after big do's and little do's I have managed to install Suntime. However, can I go back to my previous posts - what on earth is supposed to happen when you select night colours - although my screen dims momentarily - now doing it automatically with Suntime installed, the screen looks exactly the same seconds later as it's always done - not any dimmer and colours look the same - am I missing something?

Have you been into preferences menu 3 of 5, "Change Map Colours" In there you set the day colour and night colour scheme you want. It would seem you have both set to the same.

also try going into preference and tap screen brightness it should ask you to select day brightness then night brightness and as in the previous post you also need to change map colors in the preference section so you have night scheme like africa selected otherwise you might just have a day scheme selected for for day and night i've found that sunrise program to be spot on just a shame tomtom couldn't have intergrated the feature themselve's

I found what was causing the problem - when I downloaded the latest TomTom software upgrade I had ticked the "link to headlights" box, then found it did nothing without the docking station and forgot about it. As soon as I unticked it hey presto the screen dimmed beautifully.

One thing I would like to know is this - the script in the configuration file reads as follows
Quote:

gmtoffset +1
twilight no
period 60

Is this correct for British Summer Time/Winter Time or do I need to alter something in the script line?
