go 910 voices alerts

hi
do the old style voice alerts work on a go910 or do i have to install the ogg files.
also would i need to back up my 910 as it has a 20gb hard drive and i can imagine this is a very lengthy process??

Tony, it is most important that you back up the 910 to your PC, the back-up will be the only copy of the maps and data contained in your device should something go wrong. It takes around 45 mins to back up a 910 to the PC, don't be tempted to short cut this, do a full day one back up.

The old style alerts will work, as do the ogg files. But the major benefit of the 910 is Text To Speech system which can also be used for warnings, please have a read through THIS for more details.
