|
|
Hi all, new to all this so please bare with me
I have downloaded a new voice which is silent, so that I can hear POI warnings and speed camera warnings, but disables the sound for directions etc.
The problem I have is trying to get them onto my TomTom 510 using TomTom Home
If any one can give me an idiots guide to getting them on my 510 using TomTom Home, it would be much appreciated :D |

Why do you want to use TomTom Home to do it?
It is far easier to just drag and drop the files into the right place.
Download and unzip to a folder on your PC.
Copy the dataxx.chk, .vif and .bmp file to your voices folder (where xx is a 2-digit number).
So long as the xx number isn't used for another voice, that's it!
If it is, just rename the files with a different, unused 2-digit number. |

Thanks for getting back so quick :D
As I am new to TomTom home, I was wondering if there was a way of doing it through the application. If it is to much hassle I will do it the old fashioned way ![Crying or Very sad](modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_cry.gif) |

To use HOME it must be a TOC file and Silent is not supported bt TT themselves as far as I know. The install method for data71 ( Silent ) is the drag & drop Andy mentioned above.
You can go to TT website & download all the 'official' voices and use HOME to install them, but all the 'celeb' & 'comedy' voices tend to be pre-built .chk files that are simply copied in to the Voices folder. |
