Hi all, anyone come across a waterproof case for the TTG 700? I see there's some nice looking aluminium cases around now, but no indication if they're waterproof (I assume not but it's worth asking).

The silicone cases don't cover the screen :-( I'm trying to figure a way of using my TTG on the motorbike - I already have a RAM mount for a Garmin unit, but I'm planning a trip to France and the TTG would be much better to take on the trip.

Cheers, Mark

Use on a motorbike isn't recommended for the GO700, due to its use of a hard drive for storage, as opposed to solid state memory. I've heard a couple of reports of failure.

Hi Mark
The aluminium cases you are talking about, I have one and it is not waterproof because of the cutouts on the back for the speaker and power and pc connection sockets. I've stopped using mine because the plastic screen causes a lot of glare and there is no way of fixing my glare stomper while the case is in use.

Guys, I have a silly question - does GPS actually work when the GO is inside an aluminium case?

It wasn't such a silly question, but yes my Go 300 worked perfectly well inside the case. I used mine with a permanent docking kit which has extension aerial, so maybe that gave me a better signal.

That's not exactly GPS inside the case, it's more like GPS a couple of meters away from it. I wonder how much signal actually gets through the opening(s) in the case.
