|
|
Hi all
I have TT710, only had it a week. I have had a couple of problems with it, the first has now been sorted. I pressed the 'reset' button (once i found it!!)
Now i am finding that each time i put it on the home docking, i do the updates or whatever, then when i take it off the dock, i dont have to reset it, but i have to go all through the settings, i.e, language, clock etc. it loses all my other settings and goes back to factory settings so i have to do this each time. It is what happens when you use the unit for the first time!
Does anyone have any ideas as to why it is doing this and if so, what can i do to prevent this. Thanks |

Have you by any chance jiggled the locking tab on the SD card - it should not be locked.
Do you always click the My Device button to disconnect from TT Home? Never unplug without first disconnecting that way.
to the forum and have you already backed up your SD card? - if not, do it before you breath again. Do it with Win Explorer (just minimise TT Home whilst you do it) - copy all files (make sure it shows all files and extensions) to a directory on your Hard Disk. Do it now, if not sooner. _________________ Dennis

Thanks for your suggestions, Idon't think I have moved the locking tab. When I am looking at the SD card with the writing the right way up, the little white tab is at the top, is that in the right position???
I will check that first, then I will download that Link.
I checked on the site first to see if this had been discussed before but couldnt find anything so sorry about that!!
And yes i have done a back up, i did that the same day i bought it, just in case :D
Thanks for your help, i will let you know how i get on

I believe so (unless some cards get writing the other way up) On mine there is a very small down arrow and the word "lock" alongside the white tab. Strangely enough, I've never tried moving the tab, so I've absolutely no idea how easy it would be to lock it accidentally! Just thought that as "the top" is the insertion end, if you got it too close to the side it might push it. Anyway, if it got locked, it would not be able to write your configurations such as favourites and settings onto the card.
Sounds like that Flash clearing move is more likely - very annoying for a device only a week old - I'd be very tempted to take it back to the shop for exchange (if you do, NOT repair, insist on replacement or full refund). _________________ Dennis

One of my SD cards had a very loose tab which would slide to "locked" every time I slid it into one particular card reader at work, but would slide back to normal every time I pulled it out!!
That had me going for a while, I can tell you!
A little bit of Sellotape cured it once I'd realised. |

Sorry, I should have added I have no idea what that flash clearing thingy does - probably clears some thingy in a flash. This New Technology confuses old people like me - I'm the one this refers to ---
Now do another backup whilst you're on a roll. _________________ Dennis

I think it was Ming the Merciless that came up with something to clear the Flash. |
