I have purchased an HP 6515 Pocket Pc which has pre-installed GPS Navigator (which I think is TomTom 5) I have installed TomTom Nav6 but seem to have problems with sound turning off or being at zero the problem only seems to occur after some time as Nav6 works fine for a while, and the only way I can rectify is to do hard reset, there must be a conflict between the 2 tomtom programs but I cannot un-install the original program.
Can anyone tell me how I get round this problem.

Mine does the same! Usually after a few days. Also I can't restore any backups I've made. It must be TT6 as this is the only change I've made to the 6515, which worked perfectly with TT5.
I've gone back to TT5 until a solution is found. Hopefully this will be soon, or I'll be asking for a refund. |

I was in contact with H.P Support on Line and I have been informed that the 6515 is untested with TT6, also if I did a Backup when it was working and then did a restore when sound went, the sound was still not functioning so there will no doubt be an issue with this TT version, will look out for Windows update for the 6515.
Also had issue with Quick GPS updates, which it wasn't i use Orange and it has worked but cannot get to update only via ActiveSynch and via Internet.
Have you any Ideas what i could try.

There is a free tomtom navigator 6 upgrade available for download specifically for all 65xx and 69xx users from the following site :-http://www.ipaqchoice.com/Generic3.aspx?page=navigation.
Ignore the bit about needing to have bought the maps from them - the download should work as long as you have your free downloaded city map still on the ipaq. I think this map needs to be in main memory in the case of the 65xx.
Try it and see if this fixes your problem. |

Hey Guys, if anyone is interested, here is the fix for tomtom 6 sound loss.
After Tom Tom has been installed, and sound is gone, go to the windows directory and find a file called BTcoreIf.dll on the hp 6515. You may need to do it with the 6515 connected to the pc via activesync. View hidden files and you should be able to see it. Rename it Old_BTcoreIf.dll and do a soft reset. Problem fixed. :P |
