Hi,
Just for info but I did a test to see how long the internal GPS would run with Memory Map on a single charge using the MDA Compact 3.
It was seven hours 50 minutes which is more than I got using my iMate JAMin and a BT GPS receiver.
By using an extended battery this could be even longer (not sure how much thought).
Not bad performance I thought.

Impressive performance the C-III is supplied with a 1200mAh battery, I have not seen any extended ones as yet for this device, but if it were double the capacity i.e. 2400mAh then in theory it should run for twice as long.
The problem with the extended batteries is weight and bulk, I have one fitted to my XDAIIs and my Exec - great for longevity but a pain when it comes to lugging it around, I like the small compact MDA-C-III and the HTC Artemis, for longer duration walks I have an external pack that can be plugged in to either unit for a quick charge see HERE - Mike |

Wow, that's impressive. Was that with the backlight switched off or did you do any tweaks to eke out that much life? _________________ Gone fishing! |

Hi,
It is set to go to back light after four minutes.
It was also downloading emails every hour and updating weather every two hours with GPRS.
Other than that I turned it on to check the battery usage every hour.
