bigger sd card

hi just got a tomtom one and have bought a bigger sd card, how do i transfer the info from the tomtom card onto the bigger card ive tried copy and pasting but it never seems to show the maps once its on the tom tom home

Welcome to the forum, for a start you need to use the PC to copy the original card (the following is for a Windows based machine running XP Use Windows Explorer rather than TT Home for this)

Go to Windows Explorer and select Tools/ Folder Options followed by the view Tab.

Make sure the following selections are made:
Hidden Files and folders, "Show hidden files and folders"
"Hide extensions for known file types is NOT selected.

Create a folder on the PC and copy the original card to the new folder.
(If you don't have a card reader simply use the TomTom hardware plugged into the PC to provide the same functionality as a card reader).

Remove the original card and insert the new one.

Copy the CONTENTS of the created folder to the new card - the file structure should look identical with the old and new card if compared at the cards root directory.

Insert the new card once loaded to the TT device and it should start up and work - Mike
