TomTom6 on N80, Postcode problem???

Hi all,

I have just upgraded my N80 to the latest firmware so that I can now use TomTom 6. I was planning on buying an actual TomTom unit but my friend has just got TomTom 6 for his N80 and it seems like a good (and much cheaper) solution!

However, when showing it to me it seems to have a really annoying habit... When he searches for an address by postcode and presses the relevant buttons (ie. 2 for the abc button) it only inputs numbers (whereas obviously all uk postcodes start with letters)... Pressing the two button twice inputs two x 2s rather than changing to anything else???

Also, when trying to input a letter 'e' for example in the street search very often pressing 3 twice will put 'dd' - I'm guessing this is just down the unresponsiveness of the n80??

I know both these things are minor problems but could someone let me know if there is a workaround, he doesn't really ever navigate to places that he doesn't know so claims it's not a big deal but my main reason for wanting gps is to just type in a postcode and go so I'd probably opt for purchasing a standalone gps unit if this is the case?????

Ok, well completely ignore the previous post - it was down to the n80 - he has some other things running on his phone and apparently that was making the extremely unresponsive n80 even more unresponsive!!

:D At least I can save some dosh and just order the mobile tomtom now though!
