IPAQ1710 ActivSync Problem

Im not sure if this is the correct forum but I have setup ActiveSync and can transfer files the PDA without any issue.
I can also move files from the PDA to an SD card. The problem is when I try to copy files from my PC to the SD card. I get an error saying
'Critical communications services have failed to start. Try resetting the mibile device and then connect again'. I have tried this but to no avail.

Also, when I click File, Explore through ActiveSync the new explorer window opens but I also get the error message above.

Does anyone know what the problem is? Is there anything else I need to do?
