With only a stated 2 hour life, is there any way of turning off the screen to extend the battery life? I can switch the brightness to minimum, but it must still be using a lot of power.

I want to use it for route track recording rather than navigation, and assume that there would be a significant improvement in batttery life if the screen were off.

My ONE runs for upto 5 hours on my desk with the brightness turned down and over 4 in the car with voices and route planning running - tried it last week and didn't realise it wasn't plugged in so a very accurate test!

Also have the bt running with traffic.....

you can't turn off the screen but knocking down the brightness helps a lot.

What brightness levels do you use? I find text (eg road names) becomes far less legible as brightness is decreased, but for navigation that is not too much of a problemas long as you can hear the voice.

If you really want to save all juice possible, don't forget to disable bluetooth as well.
