Kudos to Garmin Customer service. Caught the cable to my i3 with my foot with a result that the i3 flew about 5 m bouncing on the ground. It still worked but wrecked both the male and female power connectors.
Rang Garmin about getting it repaired to be told it could be done on warranty (originally bought Jan 2006 so 11 months in!) Posted it Monday 30/10 minus flashcard as advised. This morning (Thursday 2/11) a courier arrived with a brand spanking new i3 with another flashcard with City Navigator Europe NT v9 map!!!
So new unit, new map, new power cable, quick service = customer for life!

As far as I can make out V9 was being shipped out on the new NUVI models. I have no idea what if any changes there was from v8 to v9 apart from new roads and it looks to be the same coverage ie UK, Eire and parts of Northern France. There is no mention of any available upgrade on the website Still well happy! I can do a screen shot if you want one! Gloat! Gloat! |

Can't you just copy the big .img file off the transflash to and load it onto another transflash and get V9 maps?
If so would you be willing to lend me your trasnflash and I would send it back with the data on a CDR as well. |

That would be both illegal and against the rules of this forum! _________________ Anita

uk_carl, as Anita says, this would be illegal and it's not acceptable to ask such questions on this site. Please don't do it again. _________________ Tim |

You can't delete your posts on this site but,as far as I'm aware, CitySelect and CityNavigator maps need registering to the devce they're being used on anyway, so probably not. _________________ Tim |
