This is my hibernation time of the year, I curl up for most of the winter and plan my next years seasonal work.
Last Friday I got a call asking for a traffic update from my TMC. Switched it on in the car and hey presto no signal, I took a drive as we needed some supplies from Sainsbury at Bracknell and still no signal.
5 days on and driving around Surrey and Berkshire this morning including Slough and M25 Heathrow area and it seems the TMC signal has joined my winter Hibernation.
Can anyone in the area tell me if there is a problem in this part of the south east ? |

Sorry to keep going on , but surely some TMC users are mad enough to drive in this area. |

I have just tried to get it working and its says subscriptions are not activated and will be activated when gps signal and traffic signal are recvd.
This could be because is half eleven at night but I would thought it would of picked something up.
I am also in the same area. Im in Staines.
Although I must say I have even tried it out whilst driving yet and my new nuvi will get its first run out on Saturday moening
Am I doing soemthing wrong or will it just set up automaticaly ?? |

I've just got in tonight from a run and had no signal again all around the area inckuding Staines !!!
Forget the subsciption drivel, it does not apply in the UK. It shoud just plug in and go within a few seconds providing it has power not batteries.
But it seems that we have no signal in the area at present unless someone knows differently! |

mrgthomas - the unit always says it can't activate, so don't worry about that. As for receiving traffic, what is the serial number of your car charging cable - it is likely to end in 6017 or 6025 - the former will cause additional problems receiving traffic data.
Staines does seem to be an area a fair distance from any of the local radio masts, but Bracknell and Reading should be well served (although my own experience of signal along the M4 seems to counter this). |

Its 6025 charger.
I can keep up about 25 "proper" stations on my car radio of which prob 15 have the TI icon shown on my Car Radio.
Like I said once I get out and about in the car hopfully it will pick something up. I tried it via the PC (USB) cable but didnt fins anything and also in my "dark" garage at half eleven last night with still no joy. |
