Hi i am about to dive into the world of sat nav and have narrowed my choices down to pobably either the Navman n40i or the Tomtom one. Has anyone got any advice that may help me make the decision which way to go. I notice that the Tomtom doesn't come with speed camera locations installed whereas the Navman does. Is this a big job to put them on if i decide to go for this one?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

I don't have either of these devices.

Check carefully what they come with. Any pre-installed database of speed cameras is almost certainly out of date (changes since the database was factory loaded) - you only need to come across one camera which isn't in your device to get points and fined.
There is no such thing as a free lunch, so check what the comparative methods and costs are for updating cameras. If you are a paid up member of this forum (£2 a month, or £19 a year) you can download camera database freely and it is updated very regularly and is highly regarded. I dunno about Navman, but TomTom have their own camera database on subscription at a similar price, but not anywhere near as well regarded or useful as the one from here.
Browse around this site for other comments. From what I've read, I think you'd be happier with the TT One than the Navman.
