I have just purchased a fully legal copy of TomTom Navigator 6 and I am selling, on Ebay, my fully legal copy of TomTom Navigator 5. It has full documentation, the original 7 CD ROMs and the original plastic card with the product code.
I have been asked the question as to whether there will be any problem when the purchaser tries to register his second hand copy.
Any ideas? |

As with Microsoft Software etc. you don't purchase the programme, only a licence to use it. The licence is NON transferable. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

However TomTom can't stop you selling it. But you are right, TomTom will give no support to people buying second hand. |

if you only registered the v5 software once then the new user should be able to register it against their device. you can check this by inputting your product code into the www.ttcode.com address. if only one device code is shown against it then the new owner will be able to register it. |

I think that only works if you log on as and pretend to be the old owner. If you log on with your own details it won't work (I think) _________________ Peter

To get the info maybe, but don't you have to when you are actually registering the new device? If not anybody could nick your registration _________________ Peter

not as far as im aware.
if you input a valid code into ttcode.com without logging in it will give you the device code its registered to and will allow further registrations if that code has any left. |
