I bought a Garmin i3 for myself and one for my girlfriend.

My girlfriends Garmin i3's speaker seems to have become distorted. Voices are now quite crackly and the beeps make a crackle when you hit the buttons etc.

Its not too bad normally but gets really bad and dificult to here if multiple instructions are given.

I've tried doing a full reset, loading the latest firmware and changing the voice to American English and back but nothing seems to have helped.

My i3 doesn't have this problem, its very clear, so I know what to expect from the unit.

Anyone else any suggestions or does it seem like this unit is faulty? Its only a month and a bit old so I'll be bringing it back to Halfords where I bought it. I just wanted to check if this is a known problem and if it "sounded" (no pun intented) like a hardware fault.

Thanks

If a hard reset, and firmware update hasn't fixed it, I'd take it back.

Agree, sounds like a hardware issue, rather than software.
