I have downloaded the speed camera database for my Navman iCN750 I have followed the instructions to use in SmartST 2006 but have found that the download is in .asc format. SmartST 2006 uses .csv format. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there something I can do to get the download I need?

Thanks Brian

1. Run Navman SmartST Desktop on your PC.

2. Connect your Navman Device.

3. Click MAP | POI's to open the POI Editor.

4. Click FILE | OPEN and point to the folder where you extracted the ASC files , e.g. C:\Temp\POCKETGPS_UK_GATSO.ASC

5. You should now see the Speed Camera data in a screen below.
At this point if you look at the top of POPIEditor you will see it now shows .csv file.

6. Click FILE | SAVE TO DEVICE

7. Now tick ACTIVE, VISUAL ALERT, IMPERIAL, 150, Increase the POI Visibility and also point to the BMP file you extracted earlier from the ZIP file, e.g. C:\Temp\pocketgps_uk_gatso.bmp

8. Now enter a name to appear within the Navman software.

Thanks for that but I have tried this but the POI editor will only look for file types CSV and won't let me change this. I therefore cannot see the files in the temp folder where I unzipped them to.

Yes it will, and if you'd searched for the subject you'd have found the solution. Type *.* into the Filename field of your POIEditor and it will show, and allow you to select, all file types. Incidentally, 150 is far too low a distance. I use 1500' as my warning distance.

Thanks each. In SmartST 2006 it doesn't allow you to change the file type for instance to all files *.* I went into the properties of the file in my temp folder and changed the extention to csv. After this I was able to see all the files in the POI Editor.

Hope this helps anyone else who finds the same problem.

I didn't say to change the filetype to *.*! Rolling Eyes Type *.* in the Filename window.
