Hi all

I haven't been on the forum much for a while. I have a Mitac Mio 168 clone which works perfectly with TTN3.07 and Checkpoint 3.2.

v3.07 has two features which I cannot love without, but which are ommitted from v5.x (and presumably from v6 also).

1) Ability to rearrange the menu screens to get my most used icons on the first screen.

2) To be able to program the hardware buttons on the PPC.

I can live without being able to perform point 1 but not point 2 - I use the hardware buttons ALL THE TIME. I can't be doing with (and it's not safe to be) navigating menus while driving to mute the voice prompts - but a single button press is fine. I also have buttons for navigate to home, toggle day/night colours, show/hide compass, and guidance on/off.

I seem to remember maybe a year or so ago that there were some registry hacks for rearranging the menus and such. Not sure about the button programming though.

Anyone recall anything useful in this area?

TIA

Now that's a use of GPS that I haven't encountered before :P

The menus on TTN5, and therefore, presumably TTN6, are easy to rearrange. There are online and software methods for changing the menus or it can be easily edited using notepad. I don't think, in TTN5, that the hardware buttons can be programmed.

Thanks for that.

Anyone else any input on the button programming issue? I can't understand why they ever took that function out.
