MioMap vs TomTom

Hi I posted a query in the beginners lounge afew days ago which has had quite a few looks but no replies. Now seeing this section I thought this may be a more appropriate place to post. The query is

Just joined the forum having spent sometime trying to wade through the mountains of info, so if I've missed what I'm looking for, sorry, and please point me in the right direction.
I am looking to purchase a Mio P550 to use with memory map whilst out walking and caching.
I would also like to use in car for navigation and would like to know the pros and cons of Miomap and TomTom ie which one is best to go for.

Welcome to theforums. Please do not double post. If nobody answers then either nobody knows the answer or your question is too generic.

Think about how you want to use the GPS, describe your intended usage patterns etc - this will give us a much better handle at what to recommend. Both iGO and TomTom are very good choices.
