i managed to get the card to format.

does not find device when i connect with the cable, just keeps coming up with the "do you want to connect to computer" screen.

click yes and the same screen comes up a while later

any help would be great.

i think i will leave the voices alone.

If your PC has a card slot (modern ones tend to) then put the SD card into that and copy your backup back onto it.

Why do people insist on formatting cards when its nearly always not necessary and more often than not going to screw something else up...wrong FAT format, delete needed files, etc?? No help to you but maybe this will stop someone else completely erasing their card before asking for help!

Do you have a card reader? If so, copy the backup you took prior to formatting your card, back onto it, so its the same as it was. If you dont have one, go and buy one tomorrow. Oh, and buy a bigger card, so you can keep the 'original' untouched (after you have copied the files back)..again a bit late for you, but maybe good advice for the next person, and if you get it working, you can leave that as your good copy 'in case of emergencies'.

Make sure the Plugs are pushed in fully. With a new Unit they may be rather tight.

or try copying the files onto a bigger card, maybe the extra voice has used enough space that what is left isnt big enough? IIRC with less than 2MB free space, my 300 kept crashing.

Further to the other replies: Did you download and install the correct data.chk file?

The reason I ask, is that the wrong data.chk file will produce the symptons you have described.
