Where do I get simple comparisions of GPS navigation units?

Got a TomTOM Go the maps have not been updated and today TT offered a map update at £104. A lot of money. Yes it is for other Europe countries as well as UK, but really I only have a need for UK.

I have to ask myself should I buy a new unit with Up to Date map of UK in.
Are other makers putting up to date maps in new purchases, no piont in getting a TT product because those on sale will probably be out of date.

Are other makers better at getting map updates out and at resonable prices.

I have no idea what the current prices of basic systems are at this time, I aim to find out, but I'm wondering would a new purchase cost much more.

I'm disappionted with TT, a good product let down by poor map updates at high prices with unknown acuracy.
