Right, excuse me as I am new to all this sat nav.
Why would I need to download speed camera info from this site? When I went to the Garmin site I downloaded the latest software for my nuvi300 and now I have speed camera locations on it. Also I seem to have detail mapping for france, Ireland and UK, how do I get the rest of the world on it?
Also what is mapsource?

Think you'll find that Garmin's list is way shorter than the 9,000+ cameras on this site. Incomplete camera list=fine and points for you, matey. _________________ Garmin i3 gone (sold on eBay)

I am not a complete newbie to forum sites, its just that this one seems to have a hell of a lot of stickies, maybe a slimming down/concentration of information would be a good idea?? i.e One FAQ with all the facts you need rather than 11 stickies each with more than three posts, thats a lot of trawling through to find the info you need. Anyway, I have been testing my Nuvi with the Garmin update (speed cameras) and it hasn't missed one yet, it even picked up a mobile site in a local village on my way home that I didn't even know was used for speed checks. My Nuvi let me know and sure enough there was a police man checking speeds.
What is to stop someone downloading the PGW speed camera POI info and selling it on e-bay for instance? I have notice that you can get it for £1.99 there?? |

We do Police the E-bay site for illegal sales, members can post such items HERE - For those people entrusting the camera warnings from e-bay, there is no way of knowing how good the data actually is, i.e. how out of date, and to save a penny? why bother - Mike |
