I have just returned to the UK from a flying visit to Canada. As usual, I took my invaluable sat nav with me. Bit of a strange one with the Holux though...over here (UK), I leave it connected to the spare power socket in the back of the car...so as well as picking up the satellite signals it is continually charging at the same time. With the rental car that I picked up, I plugged it into the power (cigarette) socket, and it started charging OK, but disabled the blue tooth and satellite signal until I unplugged it., when both the BT and satellite burst into action again. So I just charged it 'off line' when not in use.
Do I assume that there is a US specific Holux version ? |

Sounds quite odd. The Holux units are made in Taiwan and I seriously doubt that it would change behaviour in America! Certainly, my Holux unit didn't do anything different there.
What model do you have?
Uh, are you sure it wasn't switched off when you had it plugged in to the power (the green charging light still comes on) ? _________________ Gone fishing! |

No, I tried it both on and off as I thought it odd...sorry it's the latest 236, purchased direct from Taiwan. Not being an expert, I wondered if the earth/power on the rental were maybe, the other way round ? Anyway, it wasn't a big deal..just a bit of a surprise. |
