700 Troubles

So I installed the Media Center for my tomtom and Since I had just got my Tomtom GO 700 yesterday, I had not done anything with it execpt install this and now I just get a flashing red X. And I think i screwed it up beyond saveing.

Is there like a "Start Over" pack, if you will, that I can just copy the files from my computer to my tomtom to have a fresh start?

I take it you didn't do a Backup!!! It's the Map you have to worry about as there is no installation of this in the Box.

If you connect to the PC via the USB lead you might be able to recover it as it might be just the program that has been corrupted.

Check that you have Hidden Files showing, in Windows Folder Options, and Copy the contents of the 700 to the PC.

Use the CD that came in the box, to install the Software again. Don't worry about the Map until you're sure that the Program will run.

If none of this works, take it back to the Retailer, and ask for an exchange.;)

ALWAYS do a Backup, of a working Device, before changing anything.
